When you change a number plate (eg if you have a private plate) does it an another keeper to the log book?

I seem to remember that it no longer does, but also have some sort of recollection that it used to, a few years ago?

Other question is, is there any way of getting a list of the previous owners?

Thanks

No, won't add a keeper.

Can't really get a list of former keepers - obviously the immediately previous one is on the logbook, apart from that you'd have to do a bit of detective work through old invoices etc....

Yes, just ask DVLA and they send the details in exchange for cash. Leastways, they used to.

It used to but doesn't any more. I do not know when it changed but in the early days of my Porsche it had more plate changes than I have underpants, which means it shows as 9 owners!

Watch out though as I had the DVLA do this to me on an address change. It showed me at my old address as the previous keeper and me at my new address as the current keeper.
