What's the weakest engine (bhp) in the heaviest car (kg)?

What's the strongest engine (bhp) in the lightest car (kg)?

Curious.

1 litre 3-pot in the new model Corsa has to be up there. 60hp and depending on trim the car can be 1200kg.

The 85hp 1.2 is deathly slow in the same car...

Depends what you mean by "car" and what you mean by "weak".

Are Radical or Atom V8 really cars?

Is a low-power high-torque diesel really weak?

I guess it depends on how far back through the depths of time that you go...

Land Rover Series III 109 2.25 Diesel

60hp, 1700kgs.

Made up until about 1980 IIRC?

Past or Present?

The early Discovery's were available with 2.0 MPI petrol engines... think they were 136bhp weighing in at around 2000kg...

I'm guessing the Atom V8 would have to be up there near the top somewhere.

I recall they did a 2.0 Granada Scorpio. That was a struggle.

Didn't they do a 1.6 Insignia? Must have been about 115bhp in a 1600kg car, or about 65bhp/tonne...

My wifes Bedford CF Horsebox, allegedly 64bhp when it was new, I reckon its about 35bhp nowadays, in something thats supposed to carry 3.5 tons. 45mph downhill on a good day.

Luckily we sold it last week hehe

Volvo 340s? The peasant model of that must've been pretty shocking?

The 1.2-litre 3-pot in the base-model Skoda Roomster must take some beating.

I suspect a bus of some kind for the former. For the latter, depends strongest is a bit of a misnomer as an engine is more than just PEAK hp.

The Dax Tojeiro demonstrator runs a 502ci big block with over 500hp in a car which I suspect must weigh about 900kg or so.

The clue is in the question... tongue out

To be frank, I'm disappointed!! I was hoping you'd throw in some obscure yank tanks in for both...

I saw one this morning and thought that must be pretty gutless. Do they do the A8 with the same engine?
