Just got back from London this afternoon and took the Chimaera out for a spin, went up the road and got a puff of smoke come from the exhaust, pulled over a tiny bit of white smoke then it cleared, checked all levels and they are fine etc. Driven the car about 20 miles since with no problem whatsoever.

Any ideas?

Maybe just some crap went through from the petrol tank.... put in some Hot Shot or similar to give the complete fuel system a thorough cleanout... I'd recommend putting it in when nearly empty and then fill half the tank up with gas... IMO....

Check your brake fluid - sometimes a servo can fail and brake fluid is sucked in through the vacuum pipe - creates a very white dense smoke. Alternatively it could just have been some moisture in the exhaust.

Just a bit of an update for you, took the car out yesterday, exactly the same routine in starting off etc, same fuel and everything - no problem whatsoever?
Drove the car to work this morning - no problem whatsoever.

Brake fluid is fine, oil and water levels are fine and fluids are clean??

Must have been something in the fuel?

I had a puff of smoke coming out of just one pipe the other day. Which is wierd considering that it's one pipe from the engine and it only splits into 2 pipes underneath the boot.

I put it down to water in one of the pipes, or someone shoving a sweet wrapper up there or something.

Revved the hell out of it for a bit and it seemed to stop!!

Nope, engine left as nature intended!
