This has been progressively driving me more insane. The newly installed blind will only go down about 2 mm at a time when yanking the pull cord to the left. Now I took a clip out (the metal paperclip like thing in the picture below). Now the two cords run through the middle of this clip. I am thinking only one of them needs to run inside and the other outside it. Anyone happen to know?

A quick look at one of my blinds shows it to have only one metal bar. However the two cords run each side of it, I presume so they don't twist and jam. So I'd say you need to get one or both bars between your two cords.

Both need to run under the wheel as they will be supporting either side of the blind.

Does it lower freely without that part in place? If not then it's those cords jamming somewhere else in the mechanism.

It worked for a short while when one of the cords ran on the outside of the clip. I saw this and thought it was wrong so made it so they both went within and now I can't for the life of me remember which went where.

Thanks for checking, much appreciated.
