Hi all

I've put my CV out (new years resolution) and i've had few calls from agency for roles in the city.

I'm certainly happy with the salaries on offer etc What I need to know is what the interview process is like and what kind of questions are likely to asked.

The positions are all senior soft dev roles C++/java/C#.

Cheers

It varies from bank to bank.

Often you will be asked to complete an online test first. If you make it to an interview, there may be a written test or a grilling from 3 of their top techies.

From my experience of the technical side of interviews for programming roles (especially banks), its literally just "what experience do you have of (insert technology here)" and they are quite open ended leaving room for you to dazzle them with some fully re-hearsed slightly embellished work situations where you used your knowledge of (insert product) to improve someones efficiency by a million percent.

Its always the non-technical parts of interviews that i hate:
"Describe a way you handled a difficult situation?"
"What is your greatest weakness?"
"How have you resolved conflicts?"

and other BS!

If its a senior role then you might have to give more detailed answers on the questions, pm me for more details, if you know the bank I probably know someone there.
