Does anyone know how high performance the standard sparks are in a Chim? I upgraded the plugs on an old car of mine to some Splitfire jobs... fantastic increase in performance given the cost £9 a plug I think! Anyone got any experience of this in TVRs?

Really? Unless there was a fault leading to a weak or intermittant spark, I would expect this 'upgrade' to make no difference at all compared to the standard plugs. The claimed advantage of splitfire and so on is that they last longer before the gap degrades. And we don't leave the plugs in our TVRs that long, do we?

I fell for the marketing hype in my Rangie, bugg r all diference. I was a little troubled about trying in the Griff incase a piston popped the gap's closed.

The car I upgraded was a Rover with a 1600cc Honda engine. The engine just seemed to fire better and was a bit more responsive. Not a huge gain but certainly worth the 40 squids...

I thought you said it was a "fantastic increase"? Oh, I see, 'fantastic' as in 'its a fantasy'.

No, read it again. Fantastic increase given the cost.
