I know theres a few WoW players on here, iv seen alot about this game and it seems to be gathering a huge ammount of hype at the moment, alot of people i know have left WoW and pre ordered this, the game is released in 2 days for those who pre ordered or a week later for those who havnt, if bought anytime now you can still play in 2 days time.

Looks alot like wow just more pretty, a very polished game if the videos iv been watching are anything to go by.

Cant wait to play this, been trying to stay away from this type of thing but think im gonna have to hurry up and get my computer built for this game alone.

Are any of the WoW players at all interested in this?? Very much the same type of game, and many are calling it a wow clone which is funny as wow is a clone of everything that went before it also, seems to have taken great bits from all the games and somehow managed to make itself different enough for me to want it bad!

I have friends who have participated in the Beta and I was interested myself but sadly there is no Mac client which is a deal breaker (yes I do know about Parallels etc but no, just no).

Yes it does look like a prettier version of WoW and adheres to the basic model of class/role/talent tree/spec etc but it would be a big ask for any MMO to not do that.

The notion of world rifts opening and creating world style PVE events that can then transition into world PvP is an attractive idea. I do know some hardcore raiders who are looking at it as a serious option (either in addition to or a replacement to WoW) with one of the big pluses in their view being that the rift concept is a nice way of creating fluid, engaging content that can be participated in when waiting for raids (got to beat listening to trade chat in your capital city and feeling your brain leaking away surely).

Whether it will prove to be the "WoW killer" that so many people have predicted for this and any number of other MMOs in this fantasy genre is debatable but what is nice is that at launch it appears to be polished and competition is potentially a good thing if it drives evolution both in WoW and other MMOs.

The talents and character customisation look good, I stopped WoWing a while ago, so I might take a look at the demo when it's out. One of the things I liked about wow was that it ran pretty well on my old Pc, I don't think this will though, I may have to borrow the Mrs' laptop…

American price was $15 p/m, discounts to $10 if you pay for 6 months, so I'd expect something similar.

I played beta, if you like WOW you will like this, its very similar but character customisation (talents and stuff) is far better, content though to my disappointment is virtually the same as WOW.

Well after having a short play last night I can say it is definately a wow clone! everything is the same down to the user interface and even all the keybindings and player options. Nothing really original at all. However it is very good and at first glance the talent slection process does seem to offer a lot more versatility than wow did.

Game went live at 6 pm I logged on at 5 mins past 6 and every single server was full apart fromt he RP servers which were at high so I've had to make my chars there for now but will probably end up moving them or remaking them on PVP servers.

I think they underestimated how popular it was going to be, I'm guessing they're planning on releasing new servers when it get's released properly next week. At least I hope they do I can't be bothered waiting around to log into the game due to servers being full.

I cancelled my account after maybe 4 days of playing it, got to level 17 in that time. It's wow just in a new skin which I think looks worse, I quite like the cartoony style of wow. And it seems that loads of the immature elitists from wow went over to rift. And for some reason there was tons of racism on the server I was on.

I also got pissed off that whilst trying to quest a freaking rift would open up and I'd have to deal with that before carrying on.

I prefer wow to be honest.

Thing is starting areas are empty, or was at weekend, i got bored being alone! Been playing Mortal online but theres nothing to do on there tbh!
