That was nonsense wasn't it.. the Inns of Court being as claustrophobic as they are he'd be walking past the shop every day.. I did quite enjoy it though despite the silly far-fetched stuff. Couldn't decide whether I fancied the lead actress or not.

Love the PH name by the way Funkhouser (is your sister like the one on the show smile ?!)

I quite enjoyed it - though did think the nigging of the clothes was silly. It's not like the old boy would need to go far to work out where his thief is. However, I reckon something will happen with that later in the series - either a tinge of guilt and he'll go back and pay, or the bloke will find him.

I don't like the lead character at all - I just don't warm to her, however I wonder if that's on purpose - she is afterall a hard person.

piss-poor - considering it was written by the same guy who wrote North Square it was very very average.

Shame.

Totally agree, I really enjoyed North Square and didn't understand why it wasn't re-commissioned, but 'Silks' was a clichéd load of cr@p.

Maybe it's me, I'm the kiss of death, I loved Zen too. Now, maybe if I say I love Silks it'll get the chop...

Is it me, but did her accent change all the time ? Seemed to go from very Northern ( Lancshire ? ) to quite well spoken, all within one sentance.

I know a few counsel who do that, from outside the courtroom to inside the court room....

But then, I've also heard a story about a judge enquiring if counsel could address him in English - he was from somewhere oop North.... This was a few years ago now mind, but then again I've seen a judge (and by this I mean someone exceedingly important and very high up) ask a lady of Indian extraction when she'll be going home (yes, he'd had too much port by that point).

Still undecided on this. Think I will give it another week to see how it develops.
Am sure there is something smoldering away just beneath the surface waiting to combust.

North Square was binned when the commissioning ed at channel 4 left to go to the BBC (I think). His replacement just didn't recommission as I expect he wanted to bring his own slate to the channel.

Victim of politics.

This week's ep not much better.

I like it so far, think it will take a couple of episodes to get to know the characters. I do have one question, did I miss something in the 1st episode? Because she is now pregnant and I don't remember her shagging anyone?

I don't think you've missed anything, I think her pregnancy is part of the plot that is yet to be revealed. Mrs thinks its Billy's.

Slightly OT question. Do all barristers aspire to taking silk, or are there pros and cons to being a QC?

Also, is there any chance of barristers stopping wearing those ridiculous wigs?
