Has anyone (in Japan or at CES Las Vegas I guess) had the opportunity to have a look at one? It looks like being the next big thing and if it works it'll be a whole lot better than watching 3d TV looking like Buddy Holly.

It would be what I will be looking at rather than the current speccy models.

Anyone able to shed 3d light on how good they currently are, knowing they will also improve over time.

I am going to wait this one out. I have always jumped in straight away but I think thinks will move on very quickly and also prices will plummet in the current climate, well they have already

I've seen several at the trade shows and they are all pretty poor at the moment. I saw an LG one first 2 years ago which was about 26" in size and only gave a 3D effect if you were in the perfect viewing position in the middle.

This year I have seen several larger screens, but they still had fixed viewing positions (i.e. at 90, 60 ans 30 degrees say). The effect was nowhere near as good as the with-glasses versions and it didn't seem to have progressed hugely in 2 years so I am little sceptical about how good or how soon we'll see them in the mainstream.
