Is it a turbo or supercharged one. About right for the latter IMO

If it is the supercharged mcs it is fairly typical. I used to get around 28mpg - the miss us could get 30mpg. On a long run I managed 35mpg, but was driving like a saint.

However the later turbo models should get way better mpg.

No real tips for saving fuel other than the bleeding obvious. Don't rev up to the limiter on each gear change, change up to sixth at the earliest opportunity, check tyre pressures etc etc. It does take the fun out of driving the mcs though....

As above really. I was getting 35+mpg on a decent commute across country. Now back to Sub 30 mixing town and A road driving.

OP, it looks like yours is a supercharged one judging by your pic so I'd say 25mpg is probably about right - though I'd expect to be able to get >30 on a run unless you're really pressing on on the motorway.

For the sake of comparison, my R56 JCW averages about 25mpg in everyday driving but can be eked out to 41mpg on the motorway provided you stay under 80mph.

We used to average 31, and we drove pretty hard.

Just filled up my R53 JCW, 26mpg after driving like a saint much of the time (with a small .

Have done 36.8mpg (measured with litres used, miles travelled etc.) on the motorway but that was sitting bang-on 70mph all the way there and back.

Filled my 07 up with £60 and lasts about 310 miles. Seems about right for an R56

I used to work on these-supercharged. Most did around 25mpg, the ecu injects extra fuel on overun to give a popping noise from the exhaust. It doesn't help fuel consumption.
