Hi Peeps..After much deliberation i have been thinking of creating a yearly BBWF magazine which would be folded A4 in size and for sale at the BBWF..It will hopefully consist of History,Servicing tips,Write ups,Pictures of interiors,Engines,Wheels,Rolling road with BHP print outs,Winners of loudest..best looking..worst looking..fastest..slowest wedge..A cut out and keep pic of best voted wedge(page 3)sorry chaps no topless babes because of legalities,Jokes,Wedge crossword and puzzles and hopefully if i can involve traders then there will be prizes and discount codes within..Lists of stockists and traders,A wedge comic strip,A section on the racers..Your news and views..and anything else you would like to see,It will be only for the wedge community as it seems thats the way the cookie is crumbling..
I will be doing a BBWF wedge calendar along side the yearly desktop as i think its best if we put this years pics in next years BBWF calendar for sale in december.
As before any monies earnt will either be going towards a charity or into a fund to fund next years BBWF..Initially the more we raise the more we can spend on fun things for you all to enjoy..
I also hope that the magazine will become a success and get bigger each year..Any help with info or write ups will be greatly be appreciated..
Please let me know what you think..
Cheers..Ziga

Aled Jones had to start somewhere.

I used to draw cartoon strips years ago, alas they were mostly cynical looks at the world but I also did a series about a mate of ours called Joel who drank like a fish, he could never just have one or two but was always sh!t-faced. Used to ride a 750 Suzuki back from the pub afterwards when he couldn't even speak. He was never, so far as anyone knows, physically sick, so my cartoon strip was the ironically-titled 'Joel and his amazing technicolour yawns' featuring our hero chundering in the most improbably productive fashion.
In one strip he's passed out from Newcy Brown and the guys have tied him to the sissy-bar of my semi-chop Honda 550 (paperbag). On the way home I ride down a cobbled street which shakes the lad up so much he barfs all over a passing milk tanker and in the last frame the tanker driver has painted out 'Milk' and instead written 'Yoghurt'...!
I'm not proud of it now but I used to savage my (first) ex-wife in cartoon form, I think it was a form of therapy hehe

Hi Zaga

Are you going for it this year ?

I am all for it as long as you dont go for the rolling road print outs, that has to be a no no.

Mine was crap last year and most probably going to be the same this (must remove the suffolk punch engine and put it back in the mower)

What do you need from me to help ?

Sorry me spellcheckers not working..What i meant to say was if you think with the furry cap and keep your head facing south..then its better to be in the street where you live then to eat with your feet..

I am waiting for the 'shouldn't the TVRCC mag be covering this sort of thing' argument to kick off hehe

I started the Wedgepages website to cover exactly this also....

A good idea no less though. Can we have a Page 3 as well?

Hi mikeb..I have contacted the TVRCC and have asked for any issues to avoid as far as legalities..As of yet i have had no reply..At the end of the day it is more geared up for becoming an annual for the BBWF starting with how it came about and why..Perhaps you could help with that..There will be various topics covered but none that are too in depth as i dont want to take anything away from any work that anyone has done..Anything that needs the attention of the wedgepages and such like will be recommended by the mag..It will only touch lightly on certain subjects..Page three will be a cut out and keep of the most voted favourite wedge..Im affraid the topless babe is a bit of a no go at the moment so its roof up or down on the wedge..There will be usefull numbers of stockists,Insurance,Engineers,Fabricators..Reviews on cleaning products,Parts,Wheels,Interiors,Engines,Servicing(general)and some minor how to refurb from forum sourced boffins..
I would prefer it to compliment any info which is available and point people in the right direction without taking anything away from the forum or anything or anyone linked to it...Let me know if you have any discrepancies and i will accomodate..
Cheers
Mark
