Impreza Sti or 330Si
Discussion
Comparing the reviews of both hatchbacks, i can't work out which one is better for the day-to-day driving. Ok i'm not a Subaru nut and don't particularly want a noisy exhaust, as much BHP as possible, or garish paintwork. Just something that drives as well as my current CTR (handling, fun) and without any driveability issues (throttle lag etc.) Any pointers from those who have driven both, is it worth the 5k or so premium, is the standard STi missing anything else other than 30bhp?
Also, why is it so quiet in this Forum ..

Imho its not worth the extra for the 330s.
For much less money you can get more power and drivability - just a remap would see 330.
Exhaust and filter and remap 370bhp.
I really like the hatch just stands out less on the road

The 330 is just another sales gimmick by Subaru to re-market the car at an inflated price. For what you are talking the Sti will suit your needs and be bags quicker than the CTR but tick all the same boxes. The CTR needs its neck wringing to get it going anyway so I would imagine the small amount of turbo lag will be insignificant next to what you are driving now.
If its in your budget though, the spec-c idea up the page is a great idea!

If it was me i'd pay Iain Lichfield a visit in Tewksbury and have a look at a import maybe the Spec-C the import still runs the 2Ltr engine which is much stronger than the 2.5
Spec-C makes around 350bhp and you get twin scroll turbo which equals faster spool up
I think you will find Litchfields aren't currently importing Subarus because of the week pound making them too expensive. I did contact them about getting me a new 4 door 2.0 STI but they said it would cost me about £45k! Spec-C makes around 350bhp and you get twin scroll turbo which equals faster spool up

Iain is advertising the new Spec C at £34k, or the awesome Type 20 for £38k. With UK OTR prices now at £33k it's a no-brainer. Get the better car for only a slight premium.
Sorry, slight confusion on my part.. I'm only interested in the 4 door, and a 2.0 JDM would unfortunatly cost about £45k!

The Type 20 is the Spec C with the suspension upgrades/remap and Exhaust. Its the T25 is the full fat tuned version of the Spec C running 400BhpIf the previous model isnt an issue to you then take a look at this!!

If i had the cash for that i would buy it. That is a performance Bargain. Nothing short of £40k would be able to touch that for a fast point to point car. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1549445.htm
