Daily Wail

Daily Mail said:
Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, the Co-op group and BP petrol stations have agreed to put the magazines behind plain covers or on the top shelf following pressure from parents.

The moves come after a campaign by parenting website Mumsnet, which found enormous unease in a survey of mothers about the publications and their images of scantily-clad women.
rolleyes

So What should PH campaign for now to prove were top dog?? hehe

Censorship of Brake! campaigns as they are distressing children with pictures of them being mangled by an old ford with the badges removed in a biased advert quoting stopping figures from a Ford Anglia?? hehe

Not at WHSmiths though - which being local to me has stores everywhere - so no change for me!

I can sympathise with Mumsnet; you've squeezed out a few pupps, your clacker is like a wizzard's sleeve and your chest has headed south to meet your burgeoning gut. But why take out their neuroses on the rest of us?

Do I cry about the waxed, Action Man lookalike, spectacularly six-packed torsos of some of the blokes on the cover of other (men's and women's) magazines, as I stroll past pushing my trolley with my keg-like gut? Like hell I do.

Mumsnet are a fine and justifiably popular organization, and while I cannot speak other than for myself, I am sure all of PH feels the same and would applaud at least their intent.

Be nice if PH could actually make a difference on an issue.

I agree.

This 'cause' has absolutely nothing to do with their inner self loathing and disgust at their physical inadequacies.

I am sure that they will now be taking the same stand in relation to the gossip sheets and fashion magazines which regularly display similarly unclothed images on their front pages.

And Action Chap doesn't even have to make a hand-bra pose, there he is, reminding me that my nipples don't even do anything, it sickens me that this kind of inequality is allowed.

Remove the plastic covers, let me have a sneaky perv at some booby Nuts lovelies without having to pay £1.20 to actually own the magazine.

To have the placed on the bottom shelf so young children can see what a woman really should look like instead of the flabby wheeze bag that's dragged them in to the shop.

Let's face it, this really has nothing to do with their kids, but the fact that the images make them feel bad when they are standing in the queue with half a ton of Ginsters and chocolates.

Only the ugly ever complain.

rofl

You speaketh the truth. I always wonder who is looking after the children whilst these non-MILFs are campaigning about the issue of the moment for them. They are a disgrace to all the new parents who put all their time and effort into raising good children, rather than dump them on a childminder and rush off to 'save the world'.

The Mumsnet-er that was on BBC Breakfast this week banging on about epidurals being denied to women in labour did not once consider her child, just the fact that she was there to berate the NHS, forgetting that she lives in a country that actually provides free healthcare to expectant and new mothers. Really boiled my piss!

edit for speeling!

Quite.

The shame and repulsion they feel at the fact that they look like Henry VIII as they're ramming (another) packet of crisps down their gob, is projected onto the mags and, to an extent the mdoels too.

The sequel to "Alien V Predator" -

"PH V Musmsnet".

I'd have a go at them straight away over the missing apostrophe in their title.

Eric, please feel free to pick an argument based on reason with a collective of The Mental.

Me thinks it would be like putting Stephen Hawkins into the ring with Mike Tyson. biggrin
