Apologies if its been asked/discussed before, but i couldn't find anything.

Just how rubbish is the economy of the V8 X5?

And if anyone has/had a V8 (or any petrol) converted to LPG, how was it on gas, and what sort of economy did it get?

Ta.

my 4.6 e39 (heavy but not as bad as an x5) gets around 16mpg around town. its not lpg but my understanding is that mpg is worse on gas then petrol so expext around 12-14.

I've also heard that they tend to do headgaskets on LPG?

Did they do a 4.6 e39? I thought they were 4.4. The one I had ('02 auto touring) was around 20 mpg around town. LPG is worse mpg, but obviously cheaper. Than a head gasket though?

4.6 will be an Alpina B10 - biggest standard e39 (excepting the M5) was a 4.4

I have a 2003 4.4i X5, and get around 14-16 mpg around town, and 22-25mpg on a run.
