After getting so much help re my O ring quandry, (no solution yet so keep at it guys) I thought I would throw this one to you.

Having exhausted the internet I dont hold out much hope but you never know.

My daughter has a built in Neff oven. U1150W2GB/01 This has a recessed oven door handle.

Her half witted husband somehow managed to snap the handle in half by dropping something on it. Ok sh*t happens. Now the handle pt no 119301 is a length of plastic approx 2ft long if that. All the spares places on the internet want upwards of £62.00 plus vat, plus postage for this.

This appears very excessive for a length of white plastic which just screws onto the hinges.

Does anyone know of an oven graveyard where spares can be picked up at a realistic figure?

Alternatively my OH reckons he can fix it. God help us.

Can anyone help before he undoubtably makes the situation much worse.

Only kidding, but cant realistically see how he can fix something snapped in half. If he braces it. it wont recess properly.

Over to you

Thanks

Di

Is that Oven model number and part number correct?

The Neff eshop knows nothing about that part number for that particular oven number. The only thing looking close to what you're describing is 115458 handle strip unit 1 - 50 quid inc vat and delivery. Still a bit steep.

Definately the correct numbers. I spent 30 mins on the phone to Neff today and they wanted £72.00. I got £61.25 from Espares, from memory. They did throw up an alternative number 115457 for the part but still the same price.

Thanks for looking.

Any chance of a picture? Even of the damaged part.
Might be fun trying make one out of aluminium

White (out-of-fashion dahling) ovens go cheap on ebay - may be worth a look to get a 'spares' oven for roughly £60, rather than just the handle.
idea A spare oven would look lovely in our front garden, next to the Metro and the trolleys...
