Used XKR 4.2 or Used XK 5.0??

My father has finally decided after months of deliberating that he would like an XK Convertible. However the problem is not fully solved. He is yet to drive either but what in your opinion would be a better buy - an early 5.0 V8 Portfolio non supercharged or an XKR 4.2? The XKR wins in the looks department, the 5.0 obviously is a newer car with a nicer interior. Performance wise I suppose the XKR is better on paper, how about real world mpg, which sounds better, difference in servicing costs, reliability etc?

Would appreciate your thoughts as I'm out of knowledge base here!
