Why doesn’t TVR care about who sells their cars.

I have read on this forum so many times about the bad experiences that owners have had with a few Dealers. That includes myself!
I thought TVR with a small volume of sales, would want to keep the customers happy.
But I get the impression that they just as bad as those Dealers we speak of, just out to make a quick buck!
What has happen to the passion over their cars that they are supposed to have?
I had an experience with my Dealer and I told my story to TVR, the two top men at TVR replied to this by congratulating the owner of the Dealership on how he handled the situation and how funny everybody found it and what a joke I was.
I have had four TVR’s over the last ten years, the last one I brought from new, which has given me a look in to how TVR and the Dealers work together.
I think that love affair with TVR is coming to an end!
I know Ted that this is a forum to aid and have fun talking to fellow Piston Heads,
But if some thing is not done about these Dealers and TVR’s attitude to their customers, I can see TVR disappearing and no longing being on your web site.
One happy customer may tell five people how delighted he is, but a very unhappy customer will tell 50 people how p***d off he feels, no prizes for guessing which avenue I have decide to travel down !!!!!!!!!!

WHY doesn’t TVR spend more time on their quality control?
WHY doesn’t TVR open their own service and dealership’s around the UK, say some thing like TVR power?

Email me if you want to hear my story.

A supplier of ours has a picture of a Tuscan on some sales literature. I recently asked who it belonged to & it's owned by the company director.

I've spoken to him, and he had reliability worries so opted for a brand new vehicle with a warranty.

Two engines & a gearbox later, his patience has well..... Gone.

He said that the factory have repaired the car, but on one occasion he was without it for 6 weeks. The factory's view when he complained "there are plenty more people waiting to buy one"

I dont think he's short of a bob or 2, as he's replacing it with a konnisbeefburger (whatever they're called)

I'm sure there's lots of good stories out there, just adding my fourpenneth

Having heard Conner's story - and it is truly shocking - you have to wonder what's going on. However, this example is at the extreme end of the scale and not representative of all dealers. I've had some problems with my dealer, nothing terribly serious (compared to Conner's tale) and nothing that couldn't be fixed with better communication.

Conner - did you hear first hand from TVR that the dealer in question was 'congratulated' on his 'customer service technique', or was it from the dealer himself? If it was the latter I would take it with a very large skip full of salt...

- because most Speed Six owners seem more obsessed with having nice sparkly trick colours than the mechanical reliability - TVR's solution to it's Speed Six problem - 'Let's have more glitzy paintwork.' And it's working too - witness the topics on the Speed Six forums!

Whereas you're obsessed with wittering on about the Speed Six "reliability issue"....

I am sorry that you have had such a bad time with your car and you are so right in in wanting to tell all.

But I have posted quite a lot recently singing TVR's praises and cannot praise enough the people who work there. Most of the workforce really do have their hearts in their work and do care about the company and the customers I can assure you.

My latest car a T350 has been by far the best yet and the Speed Six engine has been faultless after 10,000 miles and numerous track days. You can only take as you find and I am "over the moon" with my car and the service I have gotten at the factory.

You have a right to air your feelings and I don't blame you, but it annoys me when some regulars on here read them and then jump on the bandwagon which becomes so boring after a while!

For the moment I don't think this thread has anything to offer that's new or enlightening so I'm closing it before we get yet more repetition.
