ive had my griff about 5 weeks now but on driving to work last saturday it started missfiring !!!
ran it down to racing green were i bought it
2 days later was told that head gasket had gone between 2 cylinders on the right hand bank and they reckon it had been done before but not re torqued properly, hence gone again, smells a bit fishy to me, as a technician if it wasnt torqued properly it would have gone in no time at all and ive only had it a short while sounds like they did the job before i purchased the car ! they have had it a week just over now but i did have it booked in anyway because the speedo tends to not go over 30 mph if you drive it for over an hour which is no good at all for keeping your license.and the intermitant wipers dont work.
but they have so far been very helpfull and the gasket is being done under warranty,
although i just cant help feeling that its burnt a valve out and there just saying its a gasket
perhaps thats what comes from being a technician in the trade, total paranoia
still loving the car all the same just gagging to get it back now although they gave me a 6.0 xj12 loan car
although a bit rough around the edges and the fuel bill its a surprising tool
