Just curious really, would you buy a Merc SLK with red leather?

And do you think it will affect resale or value?

I like it. If you do, go for it.

If anything, it adds to the value.

Erm, YES! If I was looking for an SLK, if it had Red Leather that would be a major buying point over one without.

I bought a TT over the phone (had seen a lot of pics etc) because it had Red Leather (and was in Avus Silver).

Traditional Mercedes Racing Car colours.

The German equivalent of British Racing Green with Doe!

Far nicer than bland black on a bland silver car. Red leather just looks so nice.

I'd say the number of people after red leather is low.

You probably have everyone on PH who would buy it already in this thread.

Good showroom appeal (my Mustang is silver with red leather) but may show up more dirt (blue denim tends to rub off onto the leather) so might be considered less practical especially in a convertible. Wouldn't put me off though...well, the SLK would but not the seats. wink

I would... but probably not a silver one. A black one on the other hand would look awesome smile

Bloke at work has a black Alfa GTV (fwd 90s thing) with red leather.

About the only car I've seen it in that hasn't made me think "yuck!".

I wouldn't be surprised if it appeals to SLK owners though.

Depends entirely on the exterior colour. If it's silver, grey, white or black it should look OK and you won't struggle to sell it on. You might also get away with dark blue. Just don't pair it with anything silly like green or red.

Why not. 'Resale' cars make the roads an unremittingly dull place. I love wild colour schemes, particularly those that wouldn't look out of place on a '70s concept car.

For me red leather looks great but IMHO should only be combined with a greyscale exterior.

i.e. white, black, grey, silver... you know the drill.

Car in the pics looks great. Not into late model SLKs but that is clearly a smart car. Why would it not sell?
