First off, I know I should have joined this website long before now. I have been a petrolhead for as long as I can remember, and my car is my pride and joy.

I am 18 years old (turning 19 in June), am studying medicine at university, and spend as much time (and in some cases money) as I can with my car.

My first car was a 2000 Vauxhall Astra 1.6 16v SXI 3dr which was fantastic to learn in, and I had a lot of fun with it. However it developed some "issues", so I polished it up and traded it in again't my current car for £1250 which is £50 less than I paid for it the year before!

I currently drive a 2002 Ford Mondeo 1.8 LX hatchback (insurance) but when my no claims comes through in June I am looking to upgrade to something a bit more interesting. I love the Mondeo though - might not be the fastest thing but it drives very well, and is incredibly comfortable.

Anyway thats my introduction done (I assume this is in the right section, sorry if its not!) and I will hopefully be seeing you all around here from now on!

Thanks for having me smile

Hey,
Welcome along. Good to see another young'un on here! However seeing that you were born in 1992 (screen name and age) makes me feel old.

Welcome.

Mondeos are very good cars!

Plenty of time for exotic stuff when coining it in as a GP/Surgeon...

Welcome spin

Glad to hear you can get sensible insurance for your Mondeo - I struggled when looking at similar cars at 18 (now 20 and drive a 2.0 Laguna - zzzzzzzzzzz and even worse pick up a 1.0 Picanto next week getmecoat)

At the risk of sound like an old git and a patronising fker at the same time, it's good to see that there are still youngsters out there with a good grasp of the English language.

PS Welcome to PH!

PPS Feel free to join in discussions in the health section. And feel free to point out anything I post that may be incorrect or misleading.

Thanks for the welcome guys, much appreciated!

For some reason insurance has not really affected me as badly as others, I am currently paying around £1600 for the Mondeo, fully comp, in my name. When my years NCB comes through I can get an e39 525i insured for that!

Nothing worse than people who can't construct sentences and/or spell words properly deliberately. You won't see any of that here!

Glad to hear it, although, I can probably list at least 10 things that are worse. hehe

Good post and well written (it matters here!)

Great to see you are in a decent car without plastic adornments too. Welcome aboard.
