no, not any "new projects" EVER for me (or buy TK and finish it/develop it yourself hehe) but an Ultima guy that saw my car and the trick bits the gemsX25 ecu was doing (full throttle gear change, buttons for flames and maps, launch and traction on racelogic) aparantly phoned advanced motorsport silverstone the next day and was wanting it on the mentioned engine.

Craig, did you look at Motecs M84/M800 before buying the Gems and racelogic setup? If so, what helped you go down that route over Motec?

In a previous post you showed a pic of your original GM loom and one you had made by king of motorsport wiring? Do you have contact details for these guys?

cheers

It was explained to me by Dan that on a like for like basis the GEMS X25 was approx 25-30% cheaper than the Motec option.

For example:
Motec twin Lambda is an extra £500 or so. X25 inc for free
Motec data logging is an extra £200 X25 inc for free
Motec anti lag/launch control is an extra £200 X25 is inc for free

Apparently the list goes on and he assures me that the X25 can do just about everything the Motec can. If you want to know more give Dan a call.

The racelogic is fully adjustable in cockpit comes with a digital display and I believe works on a faster update rate than either the Motec or GEMs.

Fair enough. Am wondering how effective the traction control is in the Motec compared to the racelogic standalone.

been told by more than 1 person that traction/launch is only as good as the person setting it up.. for me i like the adjustablity ease with the small knobby thing wet/Dry. I also have the full throttle gear change option but without a straight cut gb its just for "street effect" hehehe

Yes gemsX25 will definately run the V10 Fsi as i just clarified it with dan.

also the motec traction control is very very affective in BSB aswell as anti wheelie.

most decent stand alone dash's will have logging, so you dont really need logging in the ECU aswell, just CAN everything to the dash, as generally ECU's with only have 1-2mb logging, where as Dash's can have upto 8MB

I Have audi V10 in my ultima, and use a KMS system.

Think if you buy a prog. system of KMS,
you will get the program (mine)
for reasonable price with it.

By the way, keep in mind
if you build one you will get standard hp.
Only by changing a lot of things,
like the camshaft timing,
good freeflow inletsystem, freeflow exhaust, etc.etc.
and of course rev up to 8000 you will get hp.

Keep in mind:...v8 biturbo givens 580 hp in a bling,
and a nice dog-barking rough sound..

Are you running FSI or have you converted to ITB

When ITB is: inlet throttle bodies then it is converted to ITB

PS: Why would I want FSI?
