"Sorry my fault" sign?
Discussion
Following the fight-in-traffic thread, where everyone is right and hard as nails or had a mate who was, or, conversely, realised that their victory / beans / one finger / A-hole sign had resulted in a potentially lethal situation... is there a universally accepted "Sorry my fault" sign?
I can't think of one.
Now everyone whose on PH is a perfect driver so this may be a stupid question, but do we need one?
What should it be?
Should it be in the Highway Code and part of the driving test?

Fair enough - hand up / quick flash of full beam works well for oncoming traffic as a "thanks" for letting you through ... but the question is the tailgating full beam nutter - how do you let them know you don't want a fight?
You don't you only have the option of either a dirty fight with knives, baseball bats and other miscellaneous items, or a clean fight according to the Queensbury rules. However, either one is a fight to the death and the winner gets to eat the loser's family afterwards.nomisesor said:

ETA handsup handsup handsup
Let them past or flip your mirror to the "dipped" position (or whatever it's called), increase your reaction distance to the car ahead and ignore the tailgater.ETA handsup handsup handsup
It is amazing how little trouble you get yourself into when being courteous, i like to have manners and it appears that others like this too.
I get into little to no trouble on the roads.
That said i did change lanes today on the a12 and the bloke behind had his hands in the air like i'd done some sort of crazy move (indicated and had plenty of space and did't even come close to cutting him up). These people i find are the ones who tut and shake their heads at everything so a little gesture of a d
head sign is often given while laughing, (you remember the one 10 year olds used to do) Leaving them in what looks like shock

I do the mime for shooting myself in the head when I make a judgement error, seems to stop them raging & encourages them to smile back at me!
That sign could be interpreted very differently IMO, and in a way likely to really piss someone off.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
