Best place to buy a car battery on the high street?

My girlfriend has a flat battery on her car for the second time running, it's probably due a new one.

Are Halfords batteries any good? Do they come charged?

I've bought a few and they have lasted well.

Double check that the terminals are correct, especially if she has a Japanese car.

The battery I recently bought for my Jimny had big European terminals instead of the skinny oriental ones, which left me with an hour's work to fettle some new clamps.

halfords aren't cheap but they are convenient. worth checking their prices online. i'd still buy bosch as they have 5 year warranty. brother had a halfords one it died after 6 months but they gave him another which lasted longer than the car.

Yep.

But sold by Halfords to suit a Jimny.

It was easier to knock together some clamps to fit than to take the battery back to Halfords, get a refund etc etc.

Take it it was a soft top Jimny as they are euro spec made in spain , the hard tops are jap built with jap spec battery

I have a hard top Jimny which originally had the Jap battery.

Halfords sold me a big terminal battery, presumably to suit a Spanish built soft top.

My oriental Jimny now has big terminals and a euro battery.

I got an Excell battery from them on Monday for £40 with a 3-year warranty. The cheapest Halfords had for my car was £65!

Will happily sell to the public and usually well over 1/3 off high street prices for a better spec battery, with the same warranty.

Last one I bought from a local factors lasted one day over the one year warranty.

Costco Bosch for me.
