Really? Looks like there is an entry for it and you're down for it.

Christ almighty it's cold at Silverstone today and now it's raining stair rods to add to the gloom. On the upside the very lovely Melindi has managed to sort out my problem very quickly. In a Clio Sport getting my head around the new Arena section, my instructor and I closed up to a trick looking Aston, V12 Vantage I thought, anyway this car was taking some very strange lines and was doing that thing of driving miss daisy round the twisty bits then flooring it on the straights so no one could get past.
When I came in I thought a word with Melindi would be a good idea as the Aston was proving to be a possible accident waiting to happen. Whilst walking down the pit lane to race control, a screech of tyres followed by that sad sound of car impacting with an immovable object caught my attention but, being a vulture is not really my style, so carried on with my mission. Melindi meets me as I am going up the stairs and as we walk toward the Pit Wall I explain about the poor conduct of the white Aston. We look up the track and see a slightly shorter white Aston than I remember it when I finally overtook it in the little rented Clio, Melindi asks me "Do you mean that one"?
So, thanks to Melindi for sorting that one out and commiserations to the poor chap whose Prodrive Aston GT4 is now possibly scrap due to the bonded aluminium tub being bent. Wrecked Exotics will probably have photos by now. Even though Mr Aston Driver was showing signs of a complete novice and should not really have been out there on his own, in a brand new race car, not knowing where the track goes and generally being an annoying twunt, I would not have wished that on anyone as I know how painful to one's pride that is.
It's still raining

This is possibly the closest I've come to a collision at a track day... car went, I caught it, thought it was OK and then it went too again too quickly for me. Tried to find the guy in the red Boxster to thank him for managing to avoid me as a span. Video below:

I took it as a sign "quit while you're ahead" so came home after that...

I take it you mean there were some faster cars & drivers than the average track day? This is fairly normal with Goldtrack & Silverstone.
Last time I was at Silverstone with Goldtrack there was a full-on race car bullying everyone in its path, and also a Corporate Day of people driving Ferraris around like Sunday drivers. Was a strange day, that one. Zed Ed said:
No, I mean there were a lot of race/ track prepared cars.
I would say it was about normal for a Silverstone event in that price range... certainly adds a bit of flavour to things. I loved the historic stuff that was there, just so different to what you see on other trackdays.Thank you.
I'm very sad about the Aston but that's why Andy labours the Woodcote/wet/winter/compact point in the briefing. Quite ironic that so many people had read the annonymous article in Track Driver whimpering on about briefings being too long/repetitive etc and then that happened.
