Other than on here, what other TVR car clubs/forums are there. Ive found TVRCC. I cant quite justify £51 a yr membership... is there any others im missing? Is it really worth spending £50 on a TVRCC?

This is the best place for TVR forums. The TVRCC has its followers.
Is it worth £50 pa - if you have a TVR, if you like the mag and the community etc then the answer is yes but tbh it is whether it is worth it to you rather than to other people thats is important.

If you're a TVR owner... YES. If not, probably not. As far as PH goes, you will find everything you need to know on here. There are other TVR forums, but they're a bit half assed.

Don't forget that that is only your first year, with discounts with many suppliers and other benefits such as insurance for TVRCC events, trackdays etc I reckon I've paid between nothing and £25 per year which is IMHO worth it for the magazine alone.

I may be slightly biased though as I am a regional organiser for the TVRCC and I know others will disagree with me, but each to his own.

As for me I use the club for social stuff and PH for the tech stuff - works for me

I've been a member for over 15 years and my interest waxes and wains but I remain a member. recently I have my Griff insured with Mannings so I guess the discount helps towards the subscription fee although I don't know what discount I actually get

The TVRCC membership gets me a slightly better deal on insurance. The overall result is that TVRCC membership costs only a few pounds and I get the benefit of an insurer that knows about TVRs plus all of the other club benefits discussed earlier.

It didn't when I was trying to insure a modded Griff 500 and well under 30 years old...

The way i see it is that £51 isnt even a tank full of Vpower and i have to say the mag is worth the price on its own.
Tech advice is better on here as mentioned, but before i brought my first Tiv TVRCC saved me from buying a right lemon so for me it saved thousands before i started!!

I joined for a 1 year sometime back curiosity I guess but then I don't swing with the whole TVR way of life bks

Oooooh, now you've done it. I started a similar thread once and it didn't half upset a few of the fanbois, you'd think I'd fiddled with their children

Like Simon Says I don't buy into the whole TVR way of life thing. My current car is my third over seven years and I can't see where membership would have done anything for me that I haven't achieved by asking/shopping around. I've read the magazine and that doesn't sway me either.

Same here. The magazine was OK but for me I got no benefit from club membership though TBH it is what you make of it. I've never really been one for standing around in a pub car park talking widgets, I'd rather be out driving though thats not to say some of the regions don't offer this.
Best advice I have is try it and make your own mind up, some will like it, some won't. As a car club it is one of the better ones out there but just not for me.

Can't understand why some people want to have a go at the TVRCC?
In my time as club member, I've met some absolutely top people - from all walks of life, with all manner of cars. This could justify the membership fee alone!

But entering in to this debate reminds me of an old saying:
"When you're arguing with a fool, he/she is doing the same."

Basically £50 is not much these days, so I expect it's more a case of peopel eitehr being club types or not. As for (free) forums, this is it...
