Watched this last night - the 2nd link show's how good he really is. I though with 'Georgia' he was trying too hard.
The other one I have my eye on, if she can pull herself together, is Lauren Alaina - her initial tryout was amazing. so naturally talented.
Is it me or is this bunch way, way more skilled than last year?

Amazed that Pia went this round. By far the best technical singer and pretty easy on the eye as well.
There's been a lot of talk over the last few seasons that the girls go early as the majority of the voters are young girls and vote for their fave pin up boy and get birchy about the women.

Unlike X-Factor, Idol produces real stars without the need for constant hype of the kind that gave Leona some success. I believe all the top 10 this season will get record deals and although shocked at Pia's elimination, I am certain she already has a deal and will be very successful.
I believe Lauren will be in the final 3. Unbelievably she is just 16 and is getting better by the week. At heart she is a country girl and a number of previous contestants have gone on to release very good country based material. The other girl Haley could literally do Rock, Country, Jazz or Blues and really does look incredibly good. The young lad Scottie will definately end up as a country star and he is also only 17, very humble and a musician. The other top contestant is James Durban and he could literally front a good rock/metal band right now with fantastic stage presence, confidence and a great vocal range. It is noticeable how many of the contestants can play instruments and the credibility of the whole show dwarfs Cowells pantomine efforts. The best thing that has happened to Idol has been him leaving and the current judging panel of Tyler, Jackson and Lopez has much more musical credibility.

Not watched a whole idol series for a while now, alot of great contestants in the top 10 this year im totally hooked.
Really really like Haley! Seems to be flirting with the drop zone most weeks which is a shame. She did a great performance last week with casey, worth a look.

Scotty will make a fortune as a mainstream, traditional country artist.
Haley is really hot. When she smiles and puts in those raspy tones, I have to sit down. The other girl can actually sing in virtually any style but imo will also end up as a country star (but less traditional than the boy). The amazing thing is that she is only 16.
