Could somebody help me with my golf tdi?
It has started to leak into the rear floorwell ( behind the drivers seat ).
This makes the car hideously condensed on the inside.
I have been told it could be the drain holes on the bottom of the door. I have checked these drain holes and they appear to be clear, I have also been on other forums , but can't seem to find a specific answer to my particular problem.
Leaks into the front passenger footwell appear to be common. I would appreciate any info on the problem .
Regards.
Ian.

Clear out the drain bungs in the scuttle panel (the bit below the windscreen) dirt and mulched up leaves block the drain bungs.

If it's had a repair to the door at some point the plastic membrain might not have been put back. That will let water in through the bottom of the door card. Or it could be the rubber seal.

Presumably you've checked all the door seals? Does it have a sunroof?

Assuming it's rainwater getting in, sit in the car and get someone to saturate it with a hose/pressure washer, should show where the water's getting in.

It's usually this on VAG cars - water runs in through the heater vents, under the carpet and gathers in the rear footwells.

If Mk IV or later:

1 Pollen filter

2 Wiper motor area

3 Windscreen

4 Door seal(s)

5 panel seam(s)

6 Hole: rust / loom...

7 Sunroof if fitted

there are many possibilities
