how to change a radiator

Hi guys, had a look in the "bible" and on tintertnet but found no walk through guide on how to replace the rad. It can't be as easy as let go of the two rad hoses and the nuts on the top of the radiator can it? Any guide, greatly appreciated. Cheers, Mark

It really is that easy I took mine out yesterday. One little tip though jack the front of the car up so you can get the ground clearance to open the bonnet right out, gives you more room to get the rad out.

You need to jack it up about 4" to get the bonnet top open until it is almost vertical. Remember to put something soft for it to lean on to protect the paintwork, and make sure the indicators don't touch the ground (they will if you open the bonnet far enough). If in doubt pull the indicators out before you start.

Another top tip support it so it cant fall back down if left as its likely to smash the bonnet pin location point if it falls all 6-7 foot on its own.

Thats a top tip Norman makes it easier on the back too I bet. Not got any ramps though plus hate driving on to them, yours look pretty heavy though which would make a difference.
