Heard about this the other day. Very sad as they were at their peak!.

I liked them and bought a lot of their stuff but there was no real coherence to their music in my view. The vocals, always weak, were almost incidental to the music and if they were removed them it wouldn't detract that much from the overall effect. Very good live with much stronger dynamics than most rock bands.

How did I miss this?

Pretty much my favourite band of the last few years, very talented bunch (especially the drummer). Would like to know why as they were building a loyal following. Gah.

A sad day for real music. I only got to see them live once, and they sounded huge.

When they played "ornament/the last wrongs" the whole crowd was just hypnotised. This was made even more impressive seeing as they were the support to "Fightstar".

Quite a large portion of the crowd left after the Oceansize set which I quite liked...I unfortunately had to stay and endure Charlie Simpson, as the girl I went with loved him. And yes, they were terrible.

Yeah, same here. Saw them on their first and last Australian tour. No one knew who they were and they were supporting an Aussie rock band called Cog.

Started off playing to a near empty room. Halfway through the second song it was packed with people with amazed looks on their faces.

I sadly never got to see them live... was going to make the effort if they toured the latest album. I didn't really get into "Self Preserved...", although Frames is amongst my favourite albums ever and the first two were great too (if a little long!).

I am a sucker for long songs which build up to an epic ending which is partly why I loved them, as well as innovative drumming and guitar stuff. You could tell how well crafted a lot of their stuff was... so am currently loudly listening to awesome stuff like this:
