Damaged A pillar trim

Managed to catch the A pillar trim on my sleeve yesterday resulting in a big chunk of plastic breaking off. Anyone know how this trim panel attaches? And a decent repair suggestion

It attaches with sikaflex. Looks like you will need a new piece.

There are also a couple of screws

yep couple of screws near the window rubber and rubberised glue,replace and paint or just glue broken bit with rubberised glue to bodge

There is one for sale on ebay as a job lot of TVR items. It is listed as '1x o/s unpainted tuscan ‘hockey stick’ which goes on the side of the windscreen - £30'
The seller was advertising these in the PH classifieds but I can't see it there now, I think he is an ex tvr mechanic.

If I find one I will. No luck yet though. I'm thinking along the lines of super glue and a fibre glass repair kit.

Could try TVRDean as previous, Douglas Valley (they have one in a similar colour), or Plasticman (find him on here) he might be able to make you one.

Interesting thread... There were many things that I would anticipate to go wrong with a TVR, but I have to say that bits coming off the bodywork was not one of them..

I think it was more a clothing malfunction that a bit fell off

Just managed to get the trim piece off. It was actually quite easy, two screws then teased the sikaflex away with the trusty stanley knife. My plan now is to fix a small fibreglass repair to the rear, a bit of filler to the front, bit of paint, jobs a goodun......hopefully.

Couldn't source a replacement, so I set about a repair.

Glued the broken piece back on

The back was flaky, so I needed to rub it down

Glassed in a repair patch

Then filled the front

Primed it

Then painted, laquered and refitted it, job done

Very neat job! I couldn't have done it that well, I run out of patience if prep takes more than 5 minutes
