Is this an Evo II parked up on Top Gear tonight (27/02)? It looks like one front spoiler, wheels etc. But the plate says D332 ??? which means it is problably a late 1986.....but Evo II came out in 1988?? Unless it's a private plate but....

Sorry if this is a completely pointless post but any opportunity to get an E30 M3 in somewhere......

Could be a special edition (because of wheels), would guess it's the Ravaglia, but could be a Cecotto. (I really NEED an E30 M3!)

Hard to tell at that distance but it doesn't look quite as angular as the Evo splitter. Maybe an aftermarket job?

Cecotto and Ravaglia editions were both '89 I think?

To me, it looks like it could be a similar shape to a Ford GT.

Looks like it's on a 'D' reg to me so too early for Cecotto and Revag, straight 195/200 bhp with add-on spoiler. Colour does not look original either.

ETA; D932 UGO?

Wow! Wonder if the current owner is aware and I wonder which garage that is? Obviously very close to the Top Gear track?

The damage to the car was all on the drivers side but it needed new front and rear bumpers, sideskirt, front and rear wings and door, the post I hit pushed the sill in by about 6 inches as far as I remember and bent up the floor pan and the bottom of the a post was pushed in slightly. It was all repairable damage and I did look in to buying the car back from the insurance company and getting it fixed but the cost was too much for it to be worth it, so the question is was it repaired properly or fixed up cheaply and sold on, I guess it couldn't have been to bad a repair for it still to be going 10 years and 50k miles later.

The accident happened when I was going round a left hand bend the car understeered massively as if hitting ice, it was summer at the time though, hit the curb which spun the car through 180 degrees it then went through a fence and hit a gate post. I was only doing 40mph at the time as well. I think it was a result of a blow out or something breaking as the steering and brakes did nothing to help me.

I've been looking through my files and found the advert for when it was for sale in 2002 and a couple more pictures of the damage, I love the good clean example bit in the ad. The car had 78k miles on it when I crashed it in 1999.
