While investigating replacing the bathroom electric shower I found out that the incoming cold feed is connected to the shower inlet with a push fit connector:

Can anyone advise how to release the connector so I can remove the shower? There doesn't seem to be a collar to slide back or any thing like that.

I'm afraid that I've read that most push fits require a special tool to undo, as there is no collar I can only assume you do too. I've not seen what one looks like to try to do a bodge for the one off!

With many push fit fittings, they sell a removal tool - kind of horseshoe shaped thing that you put over the pipe and push back into the fitting which releases the teeth. I'd take the picture to a plumbers outlet to make sure you get the right one - I am not sure of there is more than one type.

If it's coming off and isn't being put back on again:

Is it the picture or is that incoming pipe corrugated?

Could be that the actual connection to standard pipe is behind the wall and that is a flexible tail for connecting to the shower which may not be push fit?

Yes it is corrugated. It's soldered to the copper drop pipe coming down the wall from the loft so there's no other disconnectable joint behind the shower unit.

I'll try & get a better picture of the end of the connector to show the O ring bit.
