Hello All,

So this post is called guess the device! It's on the drives side of the engine bay and I'm guessing that it should be bolted to to an earth somewhere as the present virtual earth is not working with the supply lead. It's an open/shut air valve being open when 12V are applied (and it's earthed). Could it be the aircon tick over compensator valve? Aircon has been previously removed so I'm thinking this might be a left over part not removed.

Any ideas, regards Andy?

If the hoses go either side of the butterfly I would say your guess of AC component is correct.

If you switch on the AC (which you don't havesmile) switch on fan, you'll probaly get 12v, which would confirm it.

RHS as you look at the picky goes to a T piece, which is connected between the plenum and idle valve, located just behind the water pump. The other end (LHS) joins a T piece connected to the short stubby hose which arches over the throttle linkage area.
Regards Andy.

Absolutely, You got it in one.

Its item 6 on this typical CCOT AirCon system cct diagram, this one from the SD1 but likely similar to the TVR.

Designed to add some metered air to the input tracts so the ECU also adds some matching fuel - which would otherwise raise the idle speed by typically 200 rpm - the amount needed to compensate for the additional A/C Compressor load, thereby maintaining a steady idle speed as the compressor kick in and out.

If you remove it for cosmetic reasons, seal off the orifices into the Tee'd pipes.
