UJ on the prop
Discussion
Hi All,
Very long time no speak! Life has been a bit all over the place at my end, hence not having 2 minutes to get on here!
Anyway, trying to get the wedge back on the road after my problematic trip over christmas!
Turned out that the loud clonking i was hearing was two things - firstly the gearbox mountings collapsed and brought the whole thing down and onto the chassis! This also caused the gear lever cradle to finish the bushes and collapse! The tapping/banging noise that i could hear, was the cradle sat on the UJ!!!
Anyhow, thats now all polybushed and sorted!
There is however play in the prop. The UJ at the rear of the prop has play in it. Any idea what it is or where i can get one from?
I ideally want a quick turnaround as the garage it is at will have the ramps full when this is out...
Cheers!

Should be the same as the Drive shafts
But best check the size with part # below.
HS166: 27mm x 81.80mm
HS179: 30.20mm x 106.33mm

They are Renault ones I think - I spotted a Renault lozenge logo on the bearing caps.
Also Matt - top tip - take some chalk with you under the car and mark the gap in the chassis that you get the propshaft out of. I didn't do this and it took me a half hour to get it out, but 2 bleeding hours trying different gaps to get it back in!
Also the propshaft nuts and bolts are quite special (UNF) so put the nuts straight back onto the bolts right after you get the propshaft out, so nothing gets lost.
