Bugger. XBOX RRODed on me. It's out of warranty so no free fix. Has anyone had any luck with any DIY fixes? There seem to be plenty of kits for sale on eBay but I have no idea what I need to buy and what works.

Finances don't allow purchase of a new console ATM unfortunately.

X-clamp replacement methods get the best results, generally for the price of some small nuts, bolts and washers.

Don't bother with any heatgun/towel/oven tricks as they cause more damage in the end.

Start saving those pennies though because at best you will get about 6 months out of a fixed console.
