I've been having a bit of a clear out of some stuff via ebay and would be grateful for some advice. Amongst the stuff I've got a pair of Monitor Audio R852 speakers with original Monitor Audio stands. They work fine and after a little elbow grease should look reasonable. Any ideas of value, they are quite heavy and would be a little tricky to package so I only want to go down the ebay route if its worth the hassle. I don't have any photos at the moment but if it helps I can get some on here.

Looking on Ebay suggest that a minty pair go for £100-£140 ish so if you want to clean 'em up, go for that. If you want to sell them as is, £80.

Cheers for that, I can feel the elbow grease being cracked open.

Just out of curiousity are they the original model or the later gold MD model?

The originals, they have black metal tweeters not the gold. Is there any real difference?

Only that I much prefer the originals smile I've had a pair since they came out. Pulled them out of the cupboard the other day and plugged them in. Love them still - the air, the tight bass.... <sigh> ;-) I put them back in the cupboard as I couldn't bare to get rid of them.

A pair went on ebay the other day for £88. Absolute bargain.

I'm not too sure of the specification of these speakers and can't find any info on google. Does anyone know their spec, particularly their watt and ohm rating is.

From memory the impedance is 8ohms - can't remember the power rating. If this is for your ebay listing, no-one who knows what an 852MD is will care that you can't remember that :-)

Look at this thread and search down it for 852MD.... ;-)
