Many of the circuits I have visited and seen on TV have different colour kerbs and rumble strips (for example blue & white segments).

Are the circuits free to choose their own colour scheme or is their an intent to make them easily identifiable by having unique decor? I could imaging that the F1 circuits may have a requirement to have individual schemes (no doubt administered by Bernie ) but what about the others - do the FIA hand out colour cards?

I think you will find the colours reflect that of a major event sponsor.

When the GP was run at Brands with Marlboro Sponsorship, the kerbs were red and white. When it was sponsored by JPS, they became black and white.

IIRC, Silverstone has blue and white which reflect the Fosters connection.

When the event passes, they just leave them that colour.
