Starting Failure - Chimaera
Discussion
Hello Everyone - a new 4.0L Chimeara owner here!!
Had the car 6 weeks and totally chuffed with it (97/P), but had my first taste of a mechanical problem at the weekend in the sun!
I had been in traffic for a while - enough for the fan to start cutting in - before pulling in to a petrol station to fill up. When I switched the ignition off the fan was on. Filled up. When I returned to the car it failed to start, making a small 'clunk' when I switched the ignition, but no firing at all. I tried about 4 times, then sat patiently trying to act relaxed!
After a couple of minutes I tried again and it started.
Was this connected to heat? it was a warm day. I've tried to replicate the circumstances when I got home by letting it sit with the engine running then switching off when the fans cut in, but it started straight away, so I have no idea what happened. I've not had any starting/running problems with it at all since I've had it.
Any clues???
PS - can anyone recommend a good local independent for servicing in the Sussex area?
THANKS!!!!
