May Bank Holiday: Sunday 1st & Monday 2nd 2011
The 14th Bedfordshire Classic Motor Show
Woburn Abbey

Just wondered if Herts, Beds, Cambs, are interested in doing this event this year ???
Greenwoods run event. normally they only charge £3 admin for events.
Could be a nice day out.
Just a thought for the area organiser !!

I went to this show last year (Used to be held at Shuttleworth over the same BH weekend), its an excellent day out. The show is held in the middle of the 300 odd acre deer park and close by to the Abbey and a trade centre that hosts a big jumble/craft fair (cakes, general bric a brac etc) etc over the course of the event also so theres something there for everyone.
I think a PH contingent/run out would go down very well, a nice central location and quality roads on the way also!

Thanks forthright, We just need the area Pistonheads Organiser to say 'OK' and
We may have a day out for all!

Greenwoods have sent me an application form for the day, and asked me to send on to all who may be interested in attending this event. I am happy to send this on to area rep.

Its not my place to arrange anything, as the area organiser is responsible and I understand that!!

Lets see what happens.

with only Four others interested in this event, and tickets Required to be applied for a month
in advance, at the very least!! Not looking good for this year.

Maybe to many people going out on the Bank holliday, and that's understandable.

Where do you get all that info? http://www.woburn.co.uk/events/article/the-bedford... doesnt mention anything about buying tickets a month in advance?

Greenwoods insist on the conditions for entry as per below, 28 days before the event you must have completed, signed, and paid. Its got to get there before the 28 days, so its got to be sent in good time.

I'm considering Knebworth (Greenwood event also) which will give plenty of time, but does clash with other shows. Again, its a two day event, so we could choos a day. Sunday or Monday August Bank holliday.
Greewoods are quite strict on vehicle age, but being with a club gets round the maximum age limit.

PRIVATE ENTRY/ To enter your vehicle(s) for any of our outdoor events, please complete sections 1, 2, & 4 on
page 3. A £3.00 administrative fee (with SAE) per vehicle per event is payable to Greenwood Exhibitions and is non refundable.
This covers entry for both days for a qualifying vehicle and up to 2 adults & 2 children (under 15). All other occupants pay the
normal admission price on the day. Passes will be issued upon receipt of a completed, signed form and the administration fee of
£3.00 per vehicle at least 28 days before the event.

Ah, so you want to enter a pre-1985 classic then? Even that can be done on the day (according to the info in the link I provided):

"Bring along your classics!

If you have a pre 1985 classic to display you can pre-book before the event by telephoning 01527 871150 or email info@classicmotorshow.com. Or simply turn up on the day, pay normal admission, display your car and enter the concours!"

Hi Quinton,

No, you have me wrong. My Aston DB7 is a 1995. This is the problem?
I have to enter with a club/Pistonheads to get in as mine is not old enough?

I'm not happy about this, but its not my rules so I'm stuck with them.

As much as i dislike this age rule, if people would rather see a Morris Mariner with a piano on top than my Aston DB7 thats up to them. I do understand that 'classic' is difficult to describe? but sometimes I walk round some shows where people just turn up with an old car to get in for nothing.
Your M5 is one of the modern classics.....why can't Greenwoods have modern classics? they could police that from the entries, couldn't they?
Greenwoods are happy for me to arrange something, but time is against me with this one now.

hopefully we will meet up somewhere this year at a pistonheads event.

Right then, Lets have a go !! I'll try and sort this out.

I'm contacting Greenwoods, and asking for at least 12 cars for pistonheads members.
I'm awaiting a reply..........

As soon as I know what the score is i'll post again.

If we get in, remember, you will need to post of an application (greenwoods exibitions) ASAP with £3.00 and post addressed envelope, this will get you and partner in for the show. You will fill in the CLUB section with me as a contact, with details of your car.

This will need to be with them 28 days before the show.

Do nothing yet until I get confirmation. Which day would you prefer Sunday 1st or monday 2nd.
