Okay, so maybe not following the standard PH philosophy, but I'd like to see and read about your In Car Entertainment systems - I've pretty much upgraded the system in every car I've owned, nothing very spectacular, but if your gonna spend a lot of time in a car and you love music it's worth having a decent system to enjoy you choons!

I want some inspiration as I've got a pile of kit waiting to get installed but just not getting round to it! smile

One of these with a Becker Ipod lead in the glovebox

Bluetooth for the phone aswell, sounds great, looks stock and you control the Ipod from the HU

Infinity speakers at present. I'd like a good set of components for the front and an amp to run it all, but that's for a later date. To be honest it sounds bloody good as it is!

OK I'll do it properly.

One of these in the Saab:

(complete with 2 Alpine components at the front and some others in the shelf)

One of these in MX-5:

(complete with whatever door speakers are there!)

Can't be bothered with any amps or stuff, both cars are acoustically crap!

Both nice HUs though, decent sound quality. Kenwood has more bells and whistles and very configurable, however, not easy to use on the move due a funny menu/iDrive type interface. Both around the £150 mark, bluetooth, iPod/USB compatibility and good sound quality.

I do like those Volvo systems. It always surprised me how bad the OEM stereos in my BMWs were. The Audis I've had were great! You'd think premium brand premium sounds.

Never took the time out to show mine but here it is

The sub and amp both cost me £10

Head unit was £49

Door speakers £25

Not bad for a sub £100 system really enough to make the mirrors shake (not that happens often) wink

It's amazing what a great sounds you can get for not a lot of money. I did spend over £1k on a system for a company car once! eek

One of these in the Saab:

Snap!

Used to have one of those Sony black panel units where there was nothing but a screen and a couple of blue LED buttons. The controls were on the reverse of the fascia. Looked great when closed but the control interface looked so chavvy.

Very impressed by my brother's system today.

e36 standard system (not Harmon Kardon, but is amped with lots of speakers) with an Alpine CD-less XDA something or other, and an iPod in the glove box. Sounds really really good.

JVC KD-AVX77, it does just about everything I could ever want from a head unit.
