Been reading the forums for some time now, so thought I should introduce myself and my cars! My first car was a Citroen Saxo 1.1, bought for £900 and never ever let me down. Its old, slow and noisy, but I actually loved it, so much so that I've still got it :-).

Its taken quite a lot of abuse, given my "enthusiastic" teenage driving when I first got it, and it got lots of random crap thrown in the back, but its not been chavved and its been all over the UK on road trips as well as going all the way round Europe a couple of summers ago! Never missed a beat, which isn't bad for a cheap French shopping trolley! :-) Its currently sat in the garage with no wheels on, halfway through a mini restoration. Ive sorted a couple of rust spots and the rear suspension/brakes, and the engine so far, just gotta do the front suspension/steering/brakes now smile. On a related note, does anyone know how to get the main wheel hub nuts off the front of a Saxo? Ive broken/bent several tools trying to loosen mine off :-(

That brings me onto my next car, the Alfa! Shes a 2.2 159, with the Mangoletsi MOD4 fitted. (this is a must on this engine! Totally changes the feel of the car). Sounds great now, its got a lovely growl as you put your foot down!

I regularly travel from Manchester to Reading, and it eats up the miles superbly, the seats are so comfy, I've sat in armchairs that are less comfortable! It looks fantastic too, looks completely different from anything else in the car park from the front. Its amazing how it appeals to everyone too, my boss at work admires it, my granny thinks its "a smart motor" and even the boy racers I know respect it. All the girls love it too :-P

Ive also owned a Peugeot 306, but I hated it and sold it after 3 weeks! Just wasn't for me I guess. Kept breaking down and just wasnt that great really, so I got rid of it. My dream car at the moment is a Jaguar XJS V12, and I'm hoping that once the Saxo gets back on the road for day to day use I can get a Jag for the weekends :-)

I'm gonna start joining in and posting here now me thinks :-)

The Alfa in general is sublime, the 159 is just absolutely gorgeous.

Nice from a sentimental point of view you've kept the Saxo, that's another side of being a petrolhead really, keeping cars that really mean something to you.
