I saw the FF at the factory last month and it instantly dates the 612 when you see them together. The new car really has to be seen in the metal to appreciate it's design fully.

Ohhh....I don't know....its a close one ;-) The 612 took a while to grow on people, similarly to the Quattroporte...when it came out in 2004 nobody quite understood why it was being made by Maserati (although M has a long history of QPs), it only started becoming popular maybe 2 years ago.

The 612 is an aquired taste, but I tell you one thing...if everything goes well I'' be swapping my 612 for an FF in 4-5 years time.

Think its extraordinary. A bit like the 612 is but the 550/575 never was...

I think that says more about the 612 Scaglietti than the new FF.

Prefer the 612 as well. I think the FF will be a great car for Ferrari and will drive sales in the new markets in places like Russia, China and India. But for me it is also a car that make a clear statement of intent, and that is that the classic european granturismo is in a terminal decline. I would venture that the 612 is probably the last true GT Ferrari will make. ... I hope I am wrong.....

I don't know, still think the 456 was a stunning car when it came out, but it simply didn't work, and the fact that they are free now shows how bad they actually are. When the 612 came out nobody liked it...think the FF will grow on you.

BTW the 612 has tackled London traffic (potholes, speedbumps, minicabs) perfectly...even sleeps outside and starts without an issue...try that with a 456!

I think it looks great and I look forward to seeing one in the flesh.

Out of interest, what's going on with the last pic with the luggage - is one of the rear seats down or soemthing? If not, thats gotta be a first - a Ferrari that can accomodate a set of sticks AND luggage!

Yeah looking at the pics the left seat is definitely down and I am sure they would have not made a car like this without the seats folding.

Almost a first - the Mondial T has folding rear seats and fits sticks plus full luggage set. Will be interesting to see what the FF range is on a full tank.

IMO the success of it all depends on the price of this car.

If it comes in around 100k then i'll reckon it will be a hit

I imagine this will be priced slightly higher than the Aston Martin Rapide.
