Gah! I have had my Mk1 Eunos since September. It has stayed out of the garage overnight precisely 3 times now. The previous two were in rural Somerset.

Last night I parked it in a nice area of Bristol. Overnight some horrible scrote has sliced open the rear window, presumably looking for the Sat Nav. (Note- There isn't one, it's an iPod mount on the windscreen...) They also seem to have buggered the driver's door. It doesn't open. The keylock seems to be free of interference, and locks/unlocks as usual, but neither the external or internal handles work.

Is this likely to be a door spring popped off through brute force? And is it an easy job to have the door card off to look? Obviously I can't open the door to do it...

Secondly, I luckily have a spare rear window but cannot find a comprehensive guide on tinternet as to how to replace it. Anyone point me in the right direction/have personal experience?

Yours, hugely annoyed.

Sam

Thanks... It's not the worst thing that could have happened, but I am annoyed that it's the first time it's stayed out of the garage in Bristol!

I luckily have the week off so will have a play and give them a call if I get stuck. I've got the gist of what needs to happen and if I manage to sort it myself it will be so much better for my rage levels than paying a garage!!

The door card is easy to pop off - you don't need to open the door to do it (I have a dodgy lock on my drivers side - so occasionally have to do this rolleyes )

There's the two screws either end of the door handle, and one the far right of the door near the seatbelt (has a plastic cover on it) then just pull it up and pop off the plastic bits at the bottom - job done.

Also - if they've gone in through the rear window, can you not just unzip it and zip in the new one? confused

think yourself lucky you can replace your back window. i upgraded my roof for a mohair roof, (the glass back window with heat coils in) if that gets broken into i have to replace my whole roof! touch wood!boxedin

Thanks for the tip. I'll do it later in the week when I am less annoyed and cack-handed.

The new window does zip in, however needs to be bolted in at the bottom- This is prime leak territory and it'll really annoy me if I do it wrong, as it didn't leak before. bds!
