a simple yes/no to start your post with please

are you thinking of getting a more fuel efficient car given the impending 10p rise in the price of fuel and so on.

cheers

No. But then I don't do loads of miles and I use my commute as an opportunity to get some exercise.

Yes, I did.

It gives me more money to spend on more important things, like my p+j that I don't drive much (at all). My BMW was costing to much in fuel (and insurance) so I got a classic mini, which ironically is costing more in fuel.

No, I just got a much less fuel efficient car, and I'm never going back.

If fuel gets more expensive i will just start spending less on other things. I'll probably start with my Sky subscription, which would equate to about 12p/litre. Mobile phone contract, about 8p/litre.....

Got one, grew to hate it, would rather have less money tied up in a car. I can control fuel costs by driving less, I have no control over depreciation.

Surely a poll is a better idea here.
Make sure you include a when hell freezes over option, not just yes and no. .

No, but I did buy an old pre-common-rail snotter and we're looking into buying a biodiesel rig.

My car already does an average 70 mpg and it's still too pricey. Cheaper to have a cheap car that uses more fuel than a pricey car that uses less.

In the process of doing it.

I was going to get a Z4, then decided an R56 cooper S will be much cheaper to tax, insure and run and suit my daily commute alot better.

Oddly I could live quite comfortably without either of those things, but couldn't bear to be without a car even if I worked from home and lived in the centre of a major city with great public transport.

Yes.

I do approx 18,000 miles a year, and have a 320d/Ed on order.

can someone change it to a poll for me

i did make the change to a more fuel efficient car and i simply couldn't go back

700 miles for £70 as opposed to 300 miles for £70 means I save about £200 per month which is a lot of money for steaks, beers and restaurants.

you can't drive any quicker on motorways even in a new 911 turbo so i will always stick with high mpg now

yes

Every penny that fuel prices go up is a penny less that i spend on some other part of the economy.

I could save about £200/month by jumping back into a diesel but there are so many other things i spend money on that give me less pleasure.
