My mum and her best mate are heading up to Aberdeen for a few days soon, and she asked if I'd start a thread asking for some recommendations for places to eat within the centre of town.

She is looking for mid priced nice food (traditional, Chinese, Curry...anything really)

Thanks

La Stella in The Adelphi is very good and quite reasonably priced.

Also try Caio Napoli for Italian, Blue Moon for curry and Bhan Thai for... well, I'm sure you can guess.

I like Carmine's on Union Terrace, but some people don't as the owner is bonkers. Entertaining and cheap.

For good pub grub you can't beat The Albyn. Also support the previous mention of Nargile.

Cafe 52 is good (and you can play at Narnia getting to & from the toilets)

La Stella is good, but the menu is so large that they always seem to have run out of what you want!

Ciao Napoli and Rustico both very good for Italian but I rate Casa Gabrielle higher. On Bridge street, used to be called Sopranos.
Well she picked Casa Gabrielle, and said it was "lovely food, good service, very friendly and very good value overall"

Thanks for all the replies

Each to their own...But that place is utter guff!

Stairwell that looks like an entry to a library! That aside.

Not a single Indian seen the whole night, plenty of moody looking Eastern Europeans.

Very strange menu, but food was actually ok. Eating on a metal tray that looks like something you serve drinks on it also a bit odd!

Overall food is ok, but ambience/service is a 1/10 for me!

If it's Indian you want you'd be hard pushed to beat Cinnamon.

For the rest.

Rustico's - Ok. Hit or miss on food, had some good meals tho and quite a quirky place.
Ciao Napoli - Was ok, gone down hill now, if you're in a group they'll put you down stairs which is cold and has no atmosphere. Food is Avg...

I quite like Bistro Verde. Nice service, great food, 'reasonably' prices
Also worth a Look Restaurant 21 on Market St. & Cafe 210 down the harbour.
