Just in response to the other thread.....

Anyone thinking of buying anything thirstier ?

For the last year I've been driving a 1.4HDi, 70bhp, 70mpg, £30 road tax bore-box.

This year I'm looking to drop down to something say £150 tax, 50mpg, bigger and more bhp.

Yup. I got a Range Rover Classic V8 last month.

A bit thirstier than its 123d compadre.

Just sold my Focus TDCi and in the market for a mk2 MX5 1.8.

I do low miles so fuel efficiency isn't as big a concern for me as it is for others.

Sold my 156 2.5 V6 last week, bought a GTV 3.0 V6 in its place. Probably similar consumption though, to be honest.

i'm driving a 'boring as hell' diesel MG ZR. - it might be saving me an awful lot of money, but I had much more fun when I had a more interesting car.- I miss the tinkering, the getting friends round to help me fit a gearbox, and the going out for a drive on a sunny summer sunday.

Feel like i lost a bit of 'me' when I started pootling about in a boring-mobile

Certainly thinking of something less fuel efficient- just not quite sure what yet..... every week a new car seems to tickle my fancy. Think i've been diagnosed with 'browsing pistonheads classifieds-itis'

Yup Jaguar S-Type diesel goes on Friday & I've already replaced it with a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4L petrol! I don't pay for fuel so it doesn't worry me but quite surprised that the Cherokee managed 25+MPG on a longish run last weekend.
