Heston's BMW logos blurred out for the car scenes in the programme currently on C4.

Clearly we all know what it is. Why not blur the whole fking car out.

Last thing I saw him driving was an M5 Touring in Estoril Blue, back during his 'in search of perfection' programme.

A number of car manufacturers are very precious about where their car and logo appears. The one with a 3 pointy prong surrounded by a circle is very active to ensure their vehicles don't turn up without their consent and must employ people to ensure nodoby on the tinternet uses their images. We used one of their vehicles on a product section of our website and had a snotty solicitors letter demanding conpensation and that we remove it - even though we own the image, it is their brand name/identity and can force us to change it. The Mary Portas program has her vehicle logo smudged out. It's not product placement, its about control.

I don't know, but a few wild guesses are he likes them, he wanted one, he couldn't get past B when looking at a list of cars for sale in the UK, BMW has the nearest dealership to his house, the DP of a BMW garage eats at one of his restaurants, or perhaps it was a gift from the Queen for being such a good bloke.

I would so want to 'change' the logo for something they would love to see on a car that could easily be spotted as one of theirs. I can understand that they would be worried about negative placement but where it is nutral or positive they really should take a good look at themselves.
