Why do you guys have to pay so much for airfare?

Reading over the threads I see what some of you pay to travel abroad. I just looked into booking a round trip from Miami to London in June and had quotes as low as $725.

A quick check of two totally random dates in June shows LON - MIA at £480. Soooo.....

does not sound particularly cheap.bearing in mind it is a holiday destination. would want a hotel and car hire thrown in for that kind of money

I find flight to the US are cheap, have flow to California several times and never paid more than £500.

Why do you guys have to pay so much for airfare? I just paid £315 for returns to New York from Heathrow in June with Delta, any cheaper and I'd start worrying they hadn't put enough fuel in.

You could say how come americans payt so little for flights - When I lived in canada we would drive over the border to avail of ludicrously cheap flights

I used to fly LHR-AUH a lot, and it was always a few hundred cheaper to start my flights at LHR than AUH.

I have to pay really silly money for flight.

A flight from MAN to BLL which is a 1hr 30 minute flight was £770.40 this week.

Different countries and airports have different taxes.

It troubles me to think that global travel may once again become only the preserve of the rich in the near future, with increasing fuel prices and environmental taxes - and I can't see the first hybrid plane coming just yet!
