Rugby, tennis, running, martial arts, boxing, F1, rallying, surfing, triathlons, MTBing, hell even cricket - basically anything except football for those (and there are plenty) who are this interested in football:

There's already a long-running (sorry!) Running Thread.
All the motorsport stuff is in the Motorsport sub-forum.
Cycling stuff is in the Pedal Powered sub-forum.
Rugby threads pop up quite often - see the 6 nations thread for example.
Cricket threads pop up quite often - see the ICC World Cup and Ashes threads.

Just start contributing to some of them wink

Bit tongue in cheek really!

Just amazed at the number of footy threads. Fair enough it's a popular game but even so, it's a bit OTT.

Have chipped in on a few other threads (not golf - not keen on it either but at least Golf courses are pretty)

The advantage of each mob tribe team having a separate thread is that those of us who don't care about soccer can easily avoid the threads.

Why do people who don't like football always complain about it? Never seem to see football fans complaining about Rugby etc.

We only complain when something good on TV is sacrificed in order to see a bunch of over-paid teenagers cry about getting pushed on a goal line. wink

I see football fans complaining about rugby very often. At least "we" don't act well 'ard in massive gangs then turn into crying girls when we're on our own wink

I like all sport, but Rugby's claim to be played by gentlemen went out of the window when only his quick thinking saved Brian O'Driscoll from a broken neck at the hands of a . A who still maintains to this day that he wasn't at fault.

How are they overpaid, the top 100 or so earn megabucks but that's the same in most professions.

What? ever 2 years or so for an international tourno? Same time frame for rugby is it not? You have to go out of your way to see football now.

Yes they do, all the time! Well, atleast the football fans that I know do. Apparently, rugby is a sport for gheyers and is played only by brain-dead egg chasers who aren't intelligent enough to play football (well, I suppose the brain-dead part of that is true for some rugby players hehe)

Eh? How so? I just have no interest in football. There are others the same too.

Superiority doesn't come into it - unless you're a wee bit oversensitive...?!

For the benefit of most of you, it was a joke. All of it. Eastenders, the football comment, everything. No need to get so worked up... rolleyes

Why else would you do it? If you enjoy paragliding, have a paragliding thread, if you enjoy baseball, have a baseball thread. Having an 'everything except football' thread seems silly.
