Thinking of a change

Im thinking of swapping my 4-5cerb for a T350. Anybody done that here or changed from t350 to a cerb. What differences in handling etc.
I expect some of you will shoot me down for this but it is only a thought at the moment. The T350 will be a track car and Ive done my cerb up to such an extent that I dont want to use it on track now.Unfortunatly I cant afford both now and the t350s i have seen on track always look so much more planted.
Any knowledge or advise would be greatfully appreciated.

Steve I was hoping to get a t350 without selling the cerb as ive spent a lot on her but I have not had a good start to the year so the cerb would have to go to get the t.Im still very unsure about it, was sort of hoping somebody would come on and say yes they are a real upgrade to what ive got or dont bother the cerbs as good if not better than the T. Anyway hows your car coming on did you get the carpets sorted. See you soon just dont know what ill be driving in.

Possibly the T would be the better track day tool, I think most people agree that the Sag inspires more confidence handling-wise than the cerb (and the T350 is closely related to the Sag), but the flip side is that history tells us the number of people who have sold a cerb and remained happy that they did so can be counted on one hand, so consider wisely
Awful idea. The T350's are dreadful. They dont handle well at all and cannot be developed to handle any better. They catch fire sometimes. Especially if you're a well priced later car with interesting paint and a tasteful interior, I hear they're the worst of the lot.
Basically, avoid. Stop looking now, they're awful.

We havent yet put the Cerb up for sale, but I can guarantee I'll have it/ another one back in a few years when I have the space for one. Truly great cars the TVR Cerbera, truly great.

Tbh Ben I'm a bit surprised that you/your dad is considering selling your cerb. You are a hardcore cerb enthusiast and your dad's car is frankly not worth anywhere near as much on the open market as it must be worth to your family. I think your dad should give (or long term loan) that car to you rather than flog it. If I were in this situation I would move heaven and earth to keep that car for later. It has a body that won't rust, an engine with good support and a chassis that can be refurbed. Do everyone a favour and put it in long term storage until you can afford to do it up. If necessary take out a loan to buy it from your dad. If I was in your dad's position I would bequeath it to you

Dad has already offered the car to me FOC, however, I am in a pretty awful position currently in that I can barely afford to keep my mazda mx5 on the road. I'd need to find a much better job to be able to keep the Cerbera in the manner in which it has been kept/deserves. I am also still brutally uninsureable - because I am still (relatively) young and live in a high risk area. We even now have a garage albeit 3hours away, in which it could possibly stay although we're not sure if it'll fit just yet. If it did though, it'd be stuck in there for a few years before I could properly find my feet. 
It is not possible to keep it here on the drive because we have that many cars already. Infact we have more than too many cars, we also have another car in the garage in Brighton... 
The Cerb, quite simply, deserves more. It is only occaisionally being used at the moment outside of the hillclimb/sprint season due to the arrival of a POS electric Smart Car that has taken over as dads daily driver and it breaks my heart not being able to drive it more myself as it is. Thankfully, the leccy Smart has thus far proved ridiculously unreliable, so the trusty Cerb has occaisionally been called into action for a few weeks, but still. This is one of the greatest TVR's ever, it needs to be enjoyed by someone!!
I expect I'll put it up for sale shortly, but it'll have to go at a reasonable price. If not, I'll store it -against what I think is best for the car- with a view to coming back to it in a few years. If I could get a decent job, things would be different... It's a strong car, with recently rebuilt/upgraded outriggers, all that it *needs* is a full respray. Thats pretty much it. Maybe an engine rebuild as it's approaching the big 100k mark, but I suspect it'll keep firing forward as it always has done for a while yet even without one. I'll be genuinely distraught when/if it goes.

You need a better job... what do you do? It is not possible to keep it here on the drive because we have that many cars already. An extremely kind offer, I love this forum. As I've said, if push comes to shove, I'll store it in Brighton. I just feel the car deserves better. If our house sale goes through we'll have plenty of space on a huge drive to store it under covers.....

Ben, I'm with the masses on this one. If you can, just hang on to it. As you know, a Cerb is one of those cars that can really bite financially, particularly if you pick a wrong 'un. Added to the family history that you have with yours I think that you'd desperately regret it in a few years when you are in a position to run it.
Career wise, we've only ever chatted on the phone, but you sound like a confident, intelligent and imaginative chap. I'm sure that you will find something more suited to your skills that remunerates you accordingly. A couple of years will go by in the blink of an eye and you'll still have the beast to tinker with. Look at it as a restoration project for your spare time and do what you can when you can.
If you want to paint it I can put you on to an excellent sprayer who could probably be a little more flexible than most in terms of letting you do your own stripping / fitting etc to keep the cost down.
My Dad sold a Lancia Fulvia Coupe Rallye that he'd had for years when I was 17 - I knew that I couldn't drive it for a few years as it was basically uninsurable for an under 21, but he let it go for £200 and I've always regretted not just bunging it in a barn somewhere...

James, thanks for the kind words, really appreciated. I know I am in -and have been in - a rut for quite some time now, but I am working on a way out and into my own thing soon (I hope!) Undoubtedly it'll involve Cerbera stuff too, so I hope it'll speed up a return to the fold if anything. 
Nick - I am guessing you're hinting that you could keep it ticking over occaisionally?? You do realise that to get the alternator working actually requires a little bit of throttle, yes?
All jokes aside, we now have a family holiday home down there - just off the seafront actually - so I'll have to give you a heads up for when I am next down there and we can grab a drink. 
Brothers, as much as I know it'd eventually be the right decision to keep her, I have given it alot of thought and know it'll be in better hands with someone who will enjoy it. Realistically I am probably going to need the space it would occupy (the garage) if we do keep it and it would free up a bit more cash for Dad to play with the next car more heavily... I'll still be part of the forum and dont doubt I'll probably own several Cerberas over the years.
